Thomas Ericson – Managing Director and Founder

Thomas leads the company and is involved in both commercial and technical aspects of the company. Before Setred he was a management consultant at The Boston Consulting Group. He also worked as an independent consultant to set up a new business area for Artificial Solutions. He holds an MEng in Manufacturing Engineering from Cambridge University, where he graduated top of his class.

Christian Møller – Technology Director and Founder

Christian is the inventor and is responsible for the overall technology. In 2002 he started his PhD with the Spatial Imaging Group at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) working on 3D displays. In the summer of 2003 he moved to Cambridge University were he continued his PhD with the Photonics and Sensors Group. The Setred technology comes out of the research Christian conducted in his PhD. He has a MEng in Electrical and Information Science from Cambridge University, where he graduated with a distinction.

Doug Patterson – Software Director and Founder

Doug is responsible for the software development in Setred. He graduated from Cambridge University with a 1st in Electrical and Information Sciences. Prior to his degree he worked at Philips Research Labs, where he co-authored two patents in the field of 3D graphics. He has also worked as a software engineer for two graphics card companies, SP3D and PowerVR.

Christine Svanæs – Marketing and Sales Director

Christine is responsible for Setred’s sales and marketing activities. Before joining Setred she spent 10 years working in the media industry, the latest position as VP Market Development at Schibsted headquarter. Christine holds masters from London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration (NHH).

Miloš Komarčević – Optics Director

Miloš is responsible for the design and development of the optical system architecture, as well as overall integration of other parts of the Setred display. He has been doing research in the field of optoelectronics since 1999, specialising in diffractive optics. Miloš holds a PhD degree from Cambridge University and an MEng degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Martin Wahlstedt – Electronics Engineer

Martin is a part of the team working with the projector firmware. He holds an MSc in Applied Physics and Electrical Engineering from Linköping University.

Jørn Skaarud Karlsen – Software Engineer

Jørn is a part of Setred’s team of programmers, focusing on implementing new rendering methods, applications, APIs and libraries. Before joining Setred he worked for Rikshospitalet at the Interventional Centre. He did his computer science degree at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). Masters Thesis “Augmented Reality for MR-guided surgery”.

Henning Nesheim – Electronic Engineer

Henning develops driver electronics and the mechanical display design. Henning recently finished his degree in Master of Science in Electronic Engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and University of Western Australia (UWA). He first entered Setred as an summer intern followed by his master thesis.

Tore Svortdal – Senior Engineer, Firmware and electronics

Tore is responsible for FPGA and electronic design at Setred. Before joining Setred he has been working for almost 20 years in different companies in the Norwegian electronics industry. Tore holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from UMIST (University of Manchester Institute of Science an Technology).

Niklas Ekström – Software Engineer

Niklas is responsible for the Setred Driver and API, among other software related issues. Before joining Setred he worked as a computer game programmer and later with full-system computer simulation. Niklas holds a masters degree from Uppsala University in Sweden in Engineering Physics.
